About this opportunity
The Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (IWM) Digital Humanism Fellowship 2025-2026 invites scholars to pursue research on the networked society at the IWM in Vienna. Each semester includes a senior visiting fellow for a one-month stay and two junior visiting fellows who conduct their own research projects and engage with the scholarly community. Junior fellows focus on digitalization’s intersections with societal, economic, and geopolitical dimensions, among other humanities and social sciences topics. The programme provides stipends, office space, and affiliated research facilities for the duration of the fellowship.

Eligibility
Junior visiting fellows must be pursuing a doctoral degree or have obtained a PhD not longer than four years before the application deadline; senior visiting fellows are by invitation only.

Applications must be submitted through the IWM’s online application form; materials include motivation letter, project description, project proposal, CV, and two letters of recommendation.
