The Emerging Technologies Media Award (ETMA) is an annual recognition for journalists reporting on African-led technologies and innovations, with a focus on water, food and energy. It awards individuals for work published or broadcast in 2024 and 2025 across print, radio, television and online media, with prize categories including a grand prize and category-specific prizes.

Benefits

Grand Prize: $5,000; category prizes (Print $2,500; Run‑up $1,000 for each category; similar prizes for Radio, Television and Online categories).

Eligibility

Open to published and broadcasted works in print, radio, television, and online media; open to individual journalists publishing in African-led media houses.
