National History Day in South Dakota

National History Day in South Dakota is a yearlong academic program in historical research, interpretation and creative expression for students in grades 6–12, run by the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum at South Dakota State University. It includes an optional competition in which students present their research to professional judges, with four regional contests and a state contest held in Brookings, South Dakota. State registration details for 2027 are provided by the program organizers.

Schools pay $45 (and $35 before October 31); individuals or homeschool families pay $25.50 (and $17.50 before October 31).
