Texte. Preis für junge Literatur is an international platform and multi-stage writing competition for German-language creative texts by young people. It includes an open submission round, public online voting, a jury selection of 25 finalists, literature workshops, readings and a gala finale in Vienna. Prizes include trips, theatre subscriptions and book vouchers, and finalist texts are presented by actors at the gala.

1st prize: city trip to Zurich for two including a Schauspielhaus Zürich performance; 2nd prize: one-year Schauspielhaus Wien subscription with premieres; 3rd prize: one-year Schauspielhaus Wien subscription; 4th–25th prizes: book vouchers; prize for school with most submissions: visit to the Literature Museum of the Austrian National Library with workshop and guided tour.

Young people aged 14 to 19 (reference date 30 September 2026) may participate by submitting a German-language creative text (max. 3000 characters) via the website; finalists will upload a further final text.

Submit a German-language text on the theme via the website www.texte.wien during the submission window; public online voting and a professional jury determine 25 finalists who attend workshops and submit a final text for a second voting phase; finalists perform at the gala.
