Information

The Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) is an annual international mathematics competition for school students from countries in the Pacific-Rim region. It consists of a 4-hour contest of five mathematical problems assessing problem-solving and reasoning. The contest is conducted locally by national representatives and results from up to ten students per country may be submitted for official consideration. The APMO aims to identify and encourage mathematically talented school students and to promote cooperation among students and teachers in participating countries.

Benefits

Eligibility

Contestants must be younger than 20 years of age on July 1 of the year in which the APMO is held and must not have formally enrolled at a university or an equivalent post-secondary institution. Participation is subject to country-specific selection and participation requirements determined by each participating country's representative.

Application

Registration and selection are handled by each participating country's national representative or national mathematical-olympiad authority; no direct international open registration. Results of up to ten students per country are submitted for official participation.
