Information

The Priority Programme "Integration of mitochondria into the cellular proteostasis network" (SPP 2453) is a DFG-funded research programme focused on molecular mechanisms of targeting and quality control of mitochondrial precursor proteins. It funds tandem or tridem research projects that combine expertise in mitochondrial protein import and cellular proteostasis. The programme uses model systems including Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Caenorhabditis elegans and cultured mammalian cells and supports a coordinated research agenda across funded projects.

Benefits

Project funding within the SPP 2453 second funding period; participation in a review colloquium (7–9 April 2027, Bonn).

Eligibility

Proposals are invited to the DFG; proposals must be written in English and submitted via the elan portal. The programme exclusively funds tandem or tridem projects combining expertise from the mitochondrial protein import field and from the cellular proteostasis field. Registration in the elan portal is required by 20 January 2027 for first-time submitters.

Application

Submit proposals in English solely via the DFG elan portal; for a new project select SPP 2453 from current calls or submit a renewal via the Proposal Overview/Renewal route. First-time users must register in the elan portal by 20 January 2027.
