2026 Call for Research into Social Work (invitation-only)

The 2026 Call for Research into Social Work is an invitation-only funding call to support high-quality, high-impact research on social work related to the healthcare and social welfare system. It invites individual research teams and consortia to apply for project funding that promotes population wellbeing, client safety, preventive and structural social work, client participation, personnel and work-structure issues, and evaluation studies. The call is administered by the Research Council of Finland and is governed by the stated standard terms for funding.

Applications are invited from researchers whose applications to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s 2026 call for university-level social work research projects scored at least 96 points but did not receive funding. Applications may be submitted by individual research teams and consortia composed of two or more teams representing one or several research organisations.

Invited applicants submit their application in the Research Council of Finland's online services (SARA); consortium applications are treated as single applications with separate subproject funding and consortium compositions cannot be changed after the deadline.
