Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship

The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship is a competitive scholarship funded by KU Leuven's global community to support international students pursuing eligible master's programmes at KU Leuven. It covers tuition fee exemption and provides a maintenance allowance for the academic year. The scholarship duration matches the programme length (1 year for 60 ECTS, 2 years for 120 ECTS subject to academic performance). Recipients are automatically considered for other compatible institutional scholarships.

Tuition fee exemption, annual administrative fee approx. €140 payable by recipient, maintenance allowance of €13,200 per academic year; eligible for consideration for other institutional scholarships.

Open to international applicants for eligible KU Leuven master's programmes (excluding bridge and distance education programmes). Applicants must demonstrate outstanding prior academic performance (high GPA) from a university outside Flanders, meet the programme's English language requirements, and must not be previously enrolled at Flemish higher education institutions. The scholarship cannot be combined with other full Belgian or European Commission funding.

Apply for admission to an eligible KU Leuven master's programme via KU Leuven's application tool and attach the scholarship application form as an annex; then formally register the scholarship application through the specific online registration tool before the deadline.
