Canon Foundation in Europe and Kyoto University Africa Unit Worldwide 2025

Information

The Canon Foundation-Kyoto University Japan-Africa Exchange Program offers fellowships for researchers in fields related to African Studies. It supports fellows from Kyoto University or KU partner institutes to conduct research in Africa, and scholars from KU or KU partner institutes to conduct research in Kyoto. Fellowships run for a minimum period of three months and up to one year between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026, with financial support ranging from 22,500 to 27,500 Euro per year, pro-rated for the period of the fellowship.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold at least an MA degree and be employed at Kyoto University or KU partner institutions as post-doctoral fellows or faculty members at the time of applying.

Applications are considered first at Kyoto University and then by the Canon Foundation in Europe; submit documents to Kyoto University Africa Unit via email as specified in the program guidelines.
