SmithGroup Design a Better Future Scholarship

The SmithGroup Design a Better Future Scholarship awards five students annually who are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion within the architecture, engineering, and design industries. Each recipient receives a one-time $6,000 tuition award and is required to complete a paid summer internship at a SmithGroup office in their discipline. The scholarship supports students enrolled in accredited U.S. programs and includes professional development opportunities tied to the internship. Funds are paid directly to the recipient's institution.

Current undergraduate (junior level or higher) or graduate students enrolled in an accredited U.S. program in architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, or engineering (civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, or fire protection). Applicants must remain enrolled during the following Fall semester, be available for a paid SmithGroup internship the following summer, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Submit the official SmithGroup scholarship application with a cover letter describing inclusion activities, current resume, required portfolio link (for design applicants), and other required documents submitted electronically before the deadline.
