Doctoral allowance of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre

The Doctoral allowance of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre is a research support grant for full-time doctoral students enrolled at the Academy. It provides a monthly payment of 660 euros for 12 months and exemption from tuition fees for the doctoral programme. The allowance is awarded automatically following annual validation of the student’s research progress and is renewable subject to continued validation. New doctoral recruits admitted from the 2022 intake receive a beginner researcher salary instead of this allowance.

Applicants must be full-time doctoral students registered at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, hold Estonian citizenship, long-term resident status or a valid residence permit, not have exceeded the nominal duration of the doctoral programme, and not be on academic leave during the payment period.

No separate application: after admission and official registration as a full-time doctoral student, the allowance is implemented automatically following departmental validation of the annual research progress attestation and processed by the institution's financial services.
