Ethel M. Hovey Scholarship

The Ethel M. Hovey Scholarship is offered by Bangor University to support undergraduate study in Welsh language, literature, history and antiquities. It targets students engaged in the study and research of Welsh culture and heritage. The scholarship provides a financial award paid annually to assist with tuition or living costs for a first-cycle degree at Bangor.

£1,500 per year total, paid monthly (~£150/month); support towards tuition fees or living costs.

Applicants must be female students who completed their secondary education in north Wales and enrolling in an undergraduate degree at Bangor University in a programme related to Welsh language, literature, history or antiquities.

Complete Bangor University admissions application; submit the university scholarship application form and provide secondary school transcripts and proof of schooling in north Wales via the university's scholarship/entry awards process.
