DSTI–NRF Policy Fellowship Programme 2026

The DSTI–NRF Policy Fellowship Programme is a 24-month fellowship that places early- and mid-career researchers in designated host institutions to contribute to public policy development and implementation. Fellows receive structured support including policy engagement, professional development, and opportunities for networking and international exposure. The programme aims to strengthen the use of research evidence in public policy in South Africa.

Early- and mid-career researchers with a doctoral qualification obtained within the past 10 years are eligible to apply; primarily South African citizens and permanent residents, with limited exceptional consideration for other applicants.
