Information

The Forge Prize invites designers, teams of designers, and architecture educators and students in the U.S. to submit conceptual design concepts that explore innovations in steel as a primary structural component. It is a two-stage competition with a focus on visionary interpretations of future built environments using steel.

Benefits

Three finalists each receive $5,000 and collaboration with a steel fabricator before presenting to judges; the winner receives $10,000 and an invitation to present at the NASCC conference.

Eligibility

Open to emerging practicing architects (licensed <10 years or on path to licensure), tenured/tenure-track architecture educators with <10 years in university programs in the U.S., adjunct educators with similar limits, and graduate-level architecture students enrolled in U.S.-based programs.

Application

Submit a narrative (up to 500 words) detailing the concept, including how steel is employed; upload five to ten media elements (images or videos) with credits.
