Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program

The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program places visiting academics from other countries at U.S. universities for a semester or a full academic year to teach courses, deliver lectures, develop study abroad/exchange partnerships and engage with campus and local communities. The Comisión Fulbright Uruguay is inviting university faculty with doctoral degrees to apply for a S-I-R placement at the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg. The appointed scholar teaches in their area of expertise and fosters intercultural and global understanding on campus and in the community.

Monthly stipend; one-time materials, settling-in and professional development allowances; supplemental allowance; dependent allowance; round-trip airfare for scholar and one qualifying dependent (for full academic year); health benefits for scholar; J-1 visa sponsorship; possible host institution cost-sharing.

University faculty (docentes universitarios) holding doctoral degrees who are interested in teaching for an academic year at the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg.
