Commonwealth Youth Ocean Hackathon 2024

The Commonwealth Youth Ocean Hackathon 2024 invites young people from Commonwealth countries to submit innovative ideas addressing ocean-related challenges. Participants can work individually or in teams to propose solutions across multiple impact areas, with evaluations by a panel of experts and potential recognition at a Commonwealth event. Winners may receive mentorship, training, and certification opportunities, and their solutions may contribute to policy outcomes and public dissemination.

Recognition for top ideas; mentorship, training sessions, and certification courses for the winners; opportunity to present at the Ocean Symposium and potential selection as Commonwealth Ocean Champions for the Year of Youth; possible exposure at COP29.

Open to young people aged 15–29 from Commonwealth countries; entries can be submitted individually or as a team; entrants must be a member of the Blue Charter Ocean Youth Working Group and develop a solution to at least one action area.

Submit a video or a document detailing relevance, actions taken, proposed solution, implementation challenges, and needed resources; entries judged by a panel of ocean and climate change experts.
