Information

The Junge Paulskirche is a nine-month student forum on democracy and constitutionality for upper secondary pupils. Participants meet monthly for five moderated debates with experts, practise perspective-taking and consensus-building, and develop debate results for a concluding event. The programme includes an alumni network and a two-day closing trip to institutions in cities such as Berlin, Strasbourg or Luxembourg. Each year 18 students from Frankfurt schools are selected and divided into two permanent teams for the debates.

Benefits

Five expert-led debates, mentorship and input from specialists, participation in a final conference and a two-day study trip to European institutions, inclusion in the programme's alumni network.

Eligibility

Upper secondary (Oberstufe) pupils from Frankfurt secondary schools, ideally not in their final year; applicants should be interested in politics and willing to commit to the programme over approximately nine months.

Application

Schools may propose up to three students; interested pupils should contact their politics teacher (PoWi) or the Fachbereichsleitung II and complete the programme's application form provided by the organiser.
