Recruiting Grants

Grant Partially funded
Stiftung Charité Berlin, Germany 2026

Information

The Recruiting Grants support the permanent recruitment of experienced or leading researchers in the life sciences and university medicine to Berlin. Grants are intended to fund critical elements of a recruitment package (for example an appropriate salary component, start-up or additional equipment, dual-career measures and travel costs) and require co‑financing by the applicant. Candidates are expected to be established in their scientific field (minimum comparable to group leader, junior professor or assistant professor) with clearly above-average qualifications for their career stage. The grant aims to strengthen existing or developing research priorities in Berlin and to enhance diversity.

Benefits

Support for an appropriate salary component, attractive additional/start‑up equipment, dual‑career measures and travel funds to prepare the recruitment.

Eligibility

The Recruiting Grantee may be recruited from Germany or abroad and must be established in their scientific field (at least a group leader, junior professor, assistant professor or comparable position). Candidates are expected to have clearly above‑average scientific qualifications for their career stage and to contribute to strengthening a research focus in the Berlin life sciences.

Application

Applications must be submitted early and the grant is to be requested prior to advanced stages of a recruitment procedure; applicants use the Stiftung Charité application portal.
