Sutton Trust Online (STO)

Sutton Trust Online (STO) is a digital programme that helps participants explore options, prepare strong applications and succeed at university or an apprenticeship. It offers interactive activities, expert advice and curated university and course-specific content. The programme includes application and personal statement support, admissions test and interview preparation, webinars with experts, and opportunities to connect with undergraduates and alumni. Participation is cohort-based and aimed at students in the final years of secondary school across the UK.

Applicants must attend, and have always attended, a state-funded, non fee-paying school/college and be in Year 12 (England and Wales), Year 13 (Northern Ireland) or S5 (or the first three weeks of S6) in Scotland when applying. Applicants must have achieved at least four GCSEs at grades 9–6 (A*–B) or four A or B grades at National 5, and meet one of the listed social mobility criteria (first in family to attend university, eligible for Free School Meals, have been looked after/in care, or live in an area/school with low progression to higher education).
