Projects must have concrete objectives achievable during the Specialist’s visit and take place entirely in Finland. Host institutions design project proposals across a broad range of eligible disciplines and may apply to invite a Specialist.

Benefits

Round-trip economy airfare; transit allowance; daily honorarium of 200 USD; limited health benefits enrollment; host-provided accommodation, in-country transport, meals, and airport pick-up/drop-off.

Eligibility

Individuals must be U.S. citizens with significant experience in one of the eligible disciplines demonstrated by professional, academic, or artistic achievements and may apply to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster. Finnish higher education institutions, NGOs, cultural centres and medical facilities may apply to host a Fulbright Specialist.

Application

U.S. academics apply to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster via fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org; Finnish host institutions submit project proposals to Fulbright Finland (application period currently closed).
