Distinguished (Senior) Scholar Fellowship

The Distinguished (Senior) Scholar Fellowship awards up to eight fellowships for senior faculty, professionals, or accomplished artists or writers to conduct research, lecturing, or a combination at accredited Israeli institutions of higher education during the 2027/28 academic year. Grants support visits of approximately four months and may begin between July 2027 and May 2028. Applicants are required to hold Assistant Professor or higher academic rank (or equivalent professional standing) and must secure a letter of invitation from an accredited Israeli host institution.

Monthly stipend, travel reimbursement up to $1,700, partial children's education reimbursement, limited accident and medical coverage, mandatory arrival orientation, and opportunities to participate in Fulbright Israel cultural and academic events.

Open to senior faculty members, professionals, or accomplished artists or writers with Assistant Professor or higher rank (or equivalent professional standing). A letter of invitation from an accredited Israeli institution of higher education is required at the time of application and candidates must be hosted by an accredited Israeli institution.

Applicants must obtain a letter of invitation from an accredited Israeli host institution and apply through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar application process (CIES/IIE); applicants may be invited for a Zoom interview.
