Fulbright Specialist Program

The Fulbright Specialist Program places U.S. faculty and professionals at academic and related institutions abroad for short-term consultancy projects of 2 to 6 weeks. Specialists work on curriculum development, faculty development, institutional planning and related education and training activities. The program covers lecturing, workshops, consultations and the development or evaluation of academic materials, but does not fund research. Host institutions apply to bring a specialist and must provide in-country hospitality according to agreed terms.

Round-trip airfare (tourist class); $200/day honorarium; in-country lodging, meals and local transportation provided by host institution.

U.S. faculty and professionals who are accepted to the Fulbright Specialist roster; Israeli universities, cultural centers, NGOs and other institutions may apply to host a specialist or request a specific rostered specialist.

U.S. specialists apply to be accepted onto the Fulbright Specialist roster via World Learning; Israeli host institutions submit project proposals or host requests through the World Learning/Fulbright Specialist host application portal.
