COMEXUS Language Teaching Assistant Program

The COMEXUS Language Teaching Assistant Program places early-career Mexican English teachers at a U.S. university for nine months (two academic semesters) to work as Spanish teaching assistants for 20 hours per week. Participants undertake teaching activities, language-center support, and cultural outreach, and may take up to two graduate-level courses per semester. The program includes living in the host U.S. university and participation in institutional teaching and dissemination activities.

Monthly maintenance (including accommodation and meals), tuition for up to two graduate courses per semester, round-trip airfare, complementary health insurance, and visa support.

Open to Mexican citizens (without dual U.S. citizenship) who are English teachers with between two and seven years of in-person classroom teaching experience in English at the close of the call. Applicants must not be living in the United States at the time of application and must not have resided in the United States for more than one year in the five years prior to the call's closing.

Submit application and required documents via the IIE application platform. Required documents include degrees and transcripts (originals and translations), CV in English, valid TOEFL/IELTS score, and identification.
