APAGS Student Diversity Initiative Award

The APAGS Student Diversity Initiative Award is a grant supporting initiatives to recruit, retain, and provide leadership training for psychology doctoral students or closely related programs. Funds may be used to implement new initiatives or support existing programs, committees, and program/departmental resources. APAGS will award one grant of $2,500, with funds disbursed to the institution by January 2027.

A single grant of $2,500 to support recruitment, retention, and/or leadership training initiatives for psychology doctoral students.

Eligible applicants are individual psychology departments; doctoral programs in psychology or related fields; diversity committees, centers, or programs at the institutional level; and doctoral internship programs in psychology. All applications must be authored or co-authored by at least one graduate student affiliate of APA (an APAGS member).

Submit a combined PDF or Word file (proposal up to three pages, letter of administrative support or co-signature, and one-page budget) in the order listed to APAGS; name the file as “Institution name_Diversity Grant_Year of submission.”
