Clinical Future Leaders Fellowship

The Clinical Future Leaders Fellowship is a long-term funded fellowship supporting outstanding clinical researchers as they transition to independent research leadership in cardiovascular science. Awards are for up to seven years (or equivalent part-time duration) and require a UK-based host institution with named academic support. The scheme is open to international applicants and those returning from a career break.

Salary for the fellow; salary for an associated post if justified; research consumables and essential equipment; discretionary fund up to £7,000; support for part-time uptake and overseas or second-institution placements subject to approval.

Applicants must hold a PhD (or MD/MDRes) and have completed at least two years of specialist training; candidates will usually be no more than two years post-CCT. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional research ability and propose a project with a strong cardiovascular research theme. The scheme also welcomes international applicants and candidates returning from a career break of more than six months.
