Rosetrees PhD Plus Awards

The Rosetrees PhD Plus Awards provide funding to extend a 3-year PhD into a 4-year studentship, enabling students who have made outstanding progress to carry out additional studies that add value to their research. Awards fund an additional 6 to 12 months of study, supporting the production of higher-quality papers or securing further funding. The awards are open to Rosetrees-funded PhD students, clinical fellows, or researchers working in a Rosetrees-funded laboratory. Applications are assessed by a scientific panel based on scientific quality and potential impact.

6–12 months funding extension to a PhD; monthly stipend; up to £650 per month for consumables.

Applicants must be Rosetrees-funded PhD students or clinical fellows or work in a Rosetrees-funded laboratory (supervisor or co-supervisor holds an active Rosetrees grant). Applicants must be 3-year PhD students entering their 3rd year; students who have already submitted their thesis are not eligible. Clinical and surgical fellows seeking to convert an MD/MS into a PhD will be considered.
