Wenner-Gren Fellow-stipendier (W-G Fellow)

The Wenner-Gren Fellow stipend is a postdoctoral fellowship for researchers to undertake postdoctoral training abroad with a subsequent possibility to obtain funding for a research position in Sweden. The fellowship period abroad covers up to three years and must start between 1 July and 1 December of the award year. The programme includes a tax-free stipend, travel costs to and from the host institution, compensation for lost child allowance, and the possibility of subsequent salary funding and a start-up grant upon return to Sweden.

Tax-free stipend for up to three years abroad; round-trip travel costs; compensation for lost child allowance; possibility to apply for two years' salary funding for a research position in Sweden after the fellowship; a start-up grant of 600,000 SEK to support a return research position.

Applicants must be Swedish citizens or foreign citizens with permanent residence in Sweden. The doctoral degree must not have been awarded more than three years prior to the application date (no more than three years may have passed between the defense and the application date of 31 January) and must have been awarded no later than 30 June in the application year. Delays in the defense are not accepted.

Apply via the Wenner-Gren Foundations application portal; applications may be submitted in Swedish or English and must include project description (max 5 pages), a binding letter from the foreign host institution, and an invitation from the Swedish institution for post-fellow employment.
