Wenner-Gren Fellowships for Postdoctoral Training (Foreign Postdocs in Sweden)

The Wenner-Gren Fellowships for postdoctoral training support named foreign postdoctoral researchers hosted at Swedish scientific institutions. Fellowships are awarded for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 24 months and are intended to support research stays in Sweden. The award includes a tax-free monthly stipend and reimbursement of travel costs to Sweden when the fellow is not already in the country.

Tax-free monthly stipend (30,000 SEK); reimbursement of travel to Sweden (economy train or flight); quarterly advance payments; required reporting during and after the fellowship.

A Swedish scientific institution must host a named foreign postdoctoral researcher. The foreign postdoc must have received their doctoral degree no more than five years before the application deadline and must not have been in Sweden for more than nine months prior to the application deadline. Applicants may only submit one application for a foreign postdoc per call; current recipients of foreign postdoc support from the foundations may not apply for another postdoc.

Apply via the Wenner-Gren Foundations application portal. Applications may be written in Swedish or English and must include a short project description (maximum 5 pages, Times 12) plus a 1/2 A4-page popular summary. Portal opens two months before deadline; support is available from the Secretariat by phone on weekdays.
