Nominations are open for the Shireen Abu Akleh Prize 2024, awarded by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the International Francophone Press Union (UPF). The prize recognises the bravery and dedication of women journalists, with a cash award of €5,000 to the winner (which may be divided between two recipients). The inaugural award will be given in December 2024.

Eligibility

Open to women journalists and media professionals globally regardless of nationality, working languages, or media platforms; candidates must hold a professional press card or similar accreditation; may be nominated by themselves, their media organisation, or third-party endorsements.
