The ACLS Summer Institute for the Study of East Central and Southeastern Europe (SISECSE) is a two-week residential workshop that enables scholars of Eastern Europe to dedicate time to their research and writing in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. The 2025 edition will be a two-week residency in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, with opportunities for local fieldwork and data collection, covered by travel stipends and housing/per diem support.

Eligibility
Applicants must hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent publications and professional experience; open to scholars in humanities or interpretive social sciences pursuing postdoctoral or advanced research in East Central and Southeastern Europe, with affiliation to a North American or East Central/Southeast European institution.
