HFSP Research Grants

The HFSP Research Grants support international, interdisciplinary teams pursuing novel basic research in the life sciences and related fields. Funding is awarded to teams led by a Principal Applicant with a primary laboratory in an HFSP member country. Applications proceed in a two-step process: submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) and, for invited teams, a full proposal. Deadlines and application procedures are managed through the HFSP application site (ProposalCentral).

The Principal Applicant must have their primary laboratory in an HFSP member country. Applications are by international research teams; the Principal Applicant designates and registers all co-applicants and must ensure no team member is principal or co-applicant on another proposal.

Submit a Letter of Intent via the HFSP application site (ProposalCentral) to obtain an LOI ID by 2026-03-17 and submit the LOI by 2026-03-26; invited teams will be asked to submit a full proposal (deadline around mid-September 2026).
