HFSP Accelerator Grant

The HFSP Accelerator Grant is a supplement to existing HFSP Research Grants that enables the integration of one additional team member into an awarded Program or Early Career research grant. The accelerator member must be based at a research institution in an eligible country and will join the team starting in year 2 of the original Research Grant. Awarded teams receive an additional 100,000 USD per year for years 2 and 3 of the grant to support the enlarged team and the new member's research activities.

The call is restricted to HFSP Research Grant teams (Program or Early Career awarded in March 2026) inviting the integration of one additional member who must be working in a research institution in one of the eligible countries (India, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, Singapore, South Africa). The accelerator member must pursue the work in the eligible country for the entire award period.

Applications are submitted by the PI of a newly awarded HFSP Research Grant through the HFSP application site (ProposalCentral); the accelerator member must provide CV/publications and sign the application; an institutional official's signature is required.
