Fulbright Graduate Student / Research Program (Sweden)

The Fulbright Graduate Student / Research Program awards grants to students intending to complete a master's or doctoral degree or to conduct graduate-level research at universities in the United States. Grants are available for master's and doctoral programs or non-degree doctoral-level research for up to a full academic year (visiting research: 4–12 months). The programme provides placement assistance through IIE and includes cash awards, test vouchers, coverage of certain fees, and insurance during the grant period.

Applicants must hold Swedish citizenship (dual U.S./Swedish citizens may not apply), have proficiency in English, and hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an EU/UK university prior to departure. Applicants who have begun a study or degree program at a U.S. university may not apply. Applications are open in all fields except dentistry, veterinary medicine and general medicine.

Apply online via the IIE application portal; placement assistance provided in cooperation with IIE. The process begins roughly 18 months before intended enrollment and includes interviews and university application steps.
