Fulbright Swedish Scholar Program

The Fulbright Swedish Scholar Program provides grants for Swedish scholars to conduct advanced research and/or lecture at a U.S. university or research centre. Grants are open to applicants from recent Ph.D. scholars to full professor level who hold an established affiliation with an American host institution. The period of stay in the United States is a minimum of three months with visa sponsorship up to twelve months. Scholars receive financial awards and program benefits administered through the Fulbright Commission.

SEK 50,000 grant; SEK 15,000 travel allowance; coverage of SEVIS and J-1 visa fees; accident and sickness insurance; Fulbright branding; exclusive seminars and events in the U.S.

Applicants must have Swedish citizenship (dual U.S. and Swedish citizens may not apply), proficiency in English, an established affiliation with an American university or research centre, and a doctoral or other terminal degree prior to departure to the United States. Scholars already conducting research in the U.S. at the time of application are not eligible.

Register and apply through the online application portal, select 'Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program', and submit the application and all supplemental documents including three recommendation letters by the deadline.
