Stevan B. Dana Scholarships for Fieldwork Participation

The Stevan B. Dana Scholarships provide financial support for participation in archaeological excavations in Israel, including designated placements at Hazor. ASOR anticipates awarding eight scholarships of $2,000 each for the 2027 field season. Recipients must participate in an ASOR-affiliated excavation and comply with reporting and administrative requirements.

$2,000 cash scholarship for fieldwork participation

Applicants must participate in an ASOR-affiliated excavation and must join ASOR or be enrolled as students at an ASOR-member school for funds to be distributed; applicants may request a membership waiver if from an underrepresented group. Applicants must also apply for participation with the individual excavation project.

Applicants must apply both to the individual excavation project and for the Dana Scholarship (ASOR recommends using the Uniform Fieldwork Scholarships Application); Hazor-designated scholarships require separate application to the Hazor excavations.
