Bruce Hobbs Medal

The Bruce Hobbs Medal is an award of the Specialist Group in Tectonics and Structural Geology (SGTSG) recognising excellence in structural geology. It covers contributions such as field mapping, field-based structural analyses, microstructural studies, experimental work, modelling of deformation, and regional structural syntheses. The recipient is selected by the SGTSG Executive Committee and is invited to present at the SGTSG field conference.

Nomination by written submission; nominee must be an SGTSG member. Preference is given to Australian citizens and active GSA members. Nominations are assessed on quality of scientific contribution relative to opportunity rather than age or career stage.
