About this opportunity
The Wilson Center invites scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals to participate in its flagship Research Fellowship Program for the 2026-2027 class. Fellows interact with policymakers in Washington, D.C. and with other researchers working on related topics, and receive support to develop nonpartisan, policy-relevant scholarship.
Benefits & funding
Stipend of $10,000 per month for twelve months; paid travel to Washington, D.C. at the start and end of the fellowship; access to the Wilson Center Library and related research resources; guidance on translating research into policy; participation in seminars and scholarly exchanges.
Eligibility
Applicants from academia must have a PhD and have published substantial work; applicants from government, policy, or nonprofit sectors must have at least 10 years of relevant experience and demonstrated impact. Proficiency in English is required, and projects must be nonpartisan and aligned with the center’s four scholarship pillars.
