Conference and Workshop Grant

The Conference and Workshop Grant provides funding to support meetings and events that foster inclusive communities of anthropologists and advance significant and innovative research. Grants support public conferences directed at large audiences of anthropologists and smaller closed workshops focused on intensive scholarly work. The programme prioritizes events with broad international representation and proposals that expand participation and produce lasting scholarly outcomes.

Monetary award up to $20,000 to cover conference or workshop expenses such as travel, accommodation, conference fees and childcare (as requested in budgets).

The primary organizer must hold a doctorate in anthropology or a related field; graduate students may serve as co-organizers but must be listed as co-applicants. The Foundation supports meetings whose primary aim is to advance anthropological conversations and does not fund panels or sessions within larger meetings or annual national association conferences.

Submit required forms and materials online via the Foundation's portal (portal opens two months before each deadline); applicants may request alternative arrangements if they lack adequate internet access.
