The Global Sustainability Challenge 2025-26

The Global Sustainability Challenge is an annual global competition where student teams design, implement, and showcase real-world sustainability solutions. It is guided by mentors and educators and offers a structured path through phases Ignite, Build, and Shine, with regional showcases and a global jury. Participants gain mentorship, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for recognition and networking on a global stage.

Mentorship from sustainability experts and educators, hands-on workshops and design thinking sessions, global showcases, digital badges and certificates, trophies, opportunities for recognition, exposure to funders and potential pathways for project funding or incubation, and access to a global network of participants and mentors.

Interdisciplinary teams of 1–6 university students from anywhere in the world are eligible to participate. At least one team member must be 18 years or older by January 1, 2026. Open to students from all disciplines.

Form a team of 2–5 students, choose a theme (Sustainable Energy or Adaptation & Resilience), develop and prototype a solution, participate in Build phase, and present in Shine phase to a global jury. Registration and updates are via the provided portal.
