The Morland African Writing Scholarships are financial awards intended to enable African writers to dedicate time to producing the first draft of a completed book. The scholarships are open to writers born in Africa or whose both parents were born in Africa and writing in English, with a grant awarded to support the development of a full-length book. Awards are competitive and provide structured financial support over a defined period, with potential extensions for non-fiction projects requiring more research time.

Eligibility

Writers born in Africa or with both parents born in Africa, writing in English, who intend to produce a new full-length book.
