Health System Impact Fellowship 2027

The Health System Impact Fellowship 2027 is a competitive funding opportunity for doctoral trainees and postdoctoral researchers to translate health services and policy research into practical improvements within health systems in Canada. Fellows work within a health system organization, applying research expertise to real-world challenges and developing competencies for evidence-informed decision-making.

Co-supervision, mentorship, leadership development, networking opportunities, and participation in platform activities and cohort events.

Doctoral trainees must be enrolled full-time in a doctoral program at a CIHR-eligible Canadian institution by September 1, 2027, and must not have previously held an HSI doctoral award. Postdoctoral applicants must hold, or be on track to complete by the funding start date, a PhD or DrPH in health services and policy research or a related field.

Applications are submitted through CIHR’s funding channels, with required materials including supervisor details, a research plan aligned to health services and policy research, and institutional approvals.
