Applications are invited for the Max Kampelman Fellowship Program 2026. Kampelman fellows join a team of experts at a U.S. government commission and work in areas such as political and military affairs, economic and environmental matters, and human rights. Fellows are paid and participate in professional development and networking opportunities during a three-month term in Washington, DC.

Eligibility

Open to current or registered graduate students; applications may be accepted from recent undergraduates (beginning of the fellowship term should be less than one year since graduation). An applicant must be a U.S. citizen; a lawfully admitted permanent resident seeking citizenship; or a refugee or asylee with a declaration to become a citizen when eligible.

Application

Submit a package by email to csce.fellowships@mail.house.gov including a cover letter, resume (max two pages), writing sample (max three pages), and optional work samples for communications fellows.
