About this opportunity
The Afreximbank-Edordu Research Competition invites postgraduate students across Africa and participating Caribbean states to produce original research on Africa's economic trajectory, including themes like trade, finance, integration, and sustainable development. The top papers are distilled into policy briefs and showcased at Afreximbank events, with prizes awarded to the winners. Winners also receive a certificate and an invitation to present at Afreximbank events.
Benefits & funding
Prize money for the top three papers (First Prize USD 20,000; Second Prize USD 15,000; Third Prize USD 10,000). All winners receive a certificate and an invitation to present at an Afreximbank event.
Eligibility
Open to postgraduate students (Master’s or PhD) enrolled at an accredited tertiary institution on the African continent or in an eligible CARICOM state, who hold African nationality or nationality of an eligible CARICOM state.
How to apply
Submit an original 3,000–5,000 word research paper through the official competition portal; undergo eligibility screening and jury scoring, followed by stage 2 where the authors of the top papers develop a policy brief and present findings at a designated forum.
