About this opportunity
The KWI International Fellowships 2026 offer an opportunity for early-career researchers to pursue independent research in Germany. Hosted by the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) in Essen, the fellowship supports a six-month research period with engagement in seminars and academic activities. Fellows work on a self-designed project and participate in the institute’s scholarly community.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants are postdoctoral researchers with a PhD, up to six years of postdoctoral experience, working in the humanities, cultural studies, or social sciences, regardless of country of origin.
