British Council Scholarships 2025–26

The GREAT Scholarships programme offers financial support for international students to pursue a one-year postgraduate Master’s degree in the United Kingdom. It is run in partnership between the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK universities, with a minimum monetary aid provided toward tuition fees. Hundreds of scholarships are awarded each year across more than 70 UK universities, with country-specific themes and eligibility criteria.

Financial support toward tuition fees; access to a cohort of GREAT Scholars and participation in related events and networking.

Citizens of one of the 18 eligible countries; must hold an offer to study a one-year postgraduate taught Master’s programme at a participating UK university.

Apply to a participating UK university for a one-year Master's programme, then submit a separate GREAT Scholarship application to that university.
