Walsh Scholars PhD Opportunities 2026

The Teagasc Walsh Scholars Programme offers fully funded PhD and Masters research opportunities in agriculture, food, environment, climate, and rural development. Scholars are based at Teagasc national research centres and partner universities, working on projects with national and international impact. Multiple PhD and Masters opportunities are advertised each year.

Fully funded PhD/Masters research; supervision from leading researchers; access to state-of-the-art facilities; opportunities for international collaboration, travel and conferences; training in research, communication, leadership, and problem-solving; cohort-based research community.

Graduates with strong academic backgrounds in relevant disciplines (agriculture, food, environment, climate, rural development, etc.) may apply; academic requirements specified in each project advert.
