Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships 2026–2027 for Master’s and PhD Students in Germany

The Heinrich Böll Foundation offers Tailwind for Talents scholarships for international Master’s and PhD students who want to study in Germany. Priority is given to applicants from DAC countries who have not yet taken up residence in Germany. Application windows run from 15 July to 1 September 2026 and 15 January to 1 March 2027, funded by the German federal ministries, providing financial support and access to programme benefits.

International students who have completed their first degree abroad and can apply prior to starting a Master’s degree in Germany, or international PhD students who have completed their graduate degree abroad and may apply for a PhD program in Germany; priority to applicants from DAC countries who have not yet taken up residence in Germany at the time of application.
