About this opportunity

The United Nations OHCHR Fellowship Programme for People of African Descent 2026 is an intensive human rights training opportunity for people of African descent from the diaspora. It is held annually at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva and aims to deepen understanding of international human rights law, the UN human rights system, and related frameworks. Fellows engage with international human rights mechanisms and develop skills in project proposals and presentations, with a stipend and travel support for the duration of the programme.

Eligibility

The candidate must be an individual of African descent living in the diaspora and have a minimum of 4 years of work experience related to the rights of people of African descent, plus an official letter from an organisation certifying the candidate’s role.
