Information

The Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Secondary Educators is a five-week, postgraduate-level professional development program funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the University of Montana. It offers opportunities for secondary school teachers and administrators from outside the U.S. to deepen understanding of the United States and its institutions, strengthening curricula for teaching about the U.S.

Benefits

Full funding for the program, travel and visa costs, accommodation, meals, cultural activities, books, and health coverage; academic residency (four weeks) plus field experience (one week); access to lectures, seminars, site visits and resources to enhance teaching of American studies.

Eligibility

Secondary education professionals outside the United States, including teachers and administrators, who are mid-career, highly motivated, and fluent in English.
