Harvard University PIL Research Fellowship 2026

The Program in Islamic Law (PIL) at Harvard Law School invites applications for the 2026-2027 PIL Research Fellowship. It is a full-time residential research fellowship lasting nine months during the academic year, intended to support early-career scholars in Islamic legal studies. The fellowship provides access to Harvard Library resources and an affiliation with Harvard Law School, including opportunities to engage with the scholarly community at Harvard.

Stipend for the full fellowship duration; full access to Harvard Libraries and PIL research resources; academic affiliation with Harvard Law School; opportunity to engage with Harvard scholars.

Applicants must have completed an advanced degree (JD, PhD, or SJD) before the fellowship begins and must be pursuing a scholarly research agenda in Islamic law.
